The EPC classifies a property into an energy class, under KENAK and Law 4122/2013. It is issued after a site inspection by an energy inspector and registered in the information system of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEN).
It is valid for ten (10) years, unless works are carried out that change the energy performance of the building.
For every sale of a building or separate unit.
For every new lease of a residence or business premises.
On completion of the works.
Before and after the works, for admission and payment.
No EPC is needed. It is required only for sales and leases.
Standalone buildings under 50 m², places of worship, temporary buildings.
Buildings or units that have not been completed.
Depends on use and installations, checked case by case.
After the inspection, the property data are collected (deed, drawings, permit data, technical details of the installations). The energy analysis is carried out under KENAK and the certificate is issued with a unique number, together with suggestions for improving the energy class.
